Latest from the Grange Sports Field Development Team

Wednesday the 13th May 2025 was truly a momentous day for the village of Earls Barton as the long-awaited development of the Grange sports field got underway.

Bob Entwistle officially cut the turf to get the work underway alongside members of the Earls Barton Sports & Community Trust, (EBSCT), Earls Barton Parish Council, (EBPC) and the site contractors Slatter and Co. Bob has supported the project team and the development of the Grange for over 20 years, both as a volunteer and previously in his role as an officer at the Borough Council of Wellingborough when the project was very first proposed. Bob remembers well the early conversations with Anne Cleaver and Peter Wright who are sadly no longer with us and the contribution to the project made by Andrew Gunn in forming EBS&CT before going to Canada. They would all have been delighted to see their vision finally being brought to life.

The initial phase includes the new access road, 3G pitch and car park and is expected to take approximately 14 weeks, during which the schedule for the new building, outdoor gym and jogging track will be finalised ready to follow completion of the initial work.

EBPC and the EBSCT would like to thank everyone who has been involved at any stage of bringing this project to life and look forward to welcoming everyone to the new facilities in due course.

Please note – During the building the work, access to some areas of the Grange will be limited. For your own safety, we would like to remind anyone using the site to keep dogs on leads and not to enter any of the fenced off areas.
